The Duszatyńskie Lakes are one of the biggest curiosities of the Bieszczady, and have given rise to many legends and stories.
CheckThe Skansen (open-air museum) area brought together more than 100 items characteristic of wooden architecture from the seventeenth to the twentieth century, making it the largest such museum in Poland.
CheckThe history museum in Sanok is a real treat for art lovers. At present, the museum has more than 20.000 exhibits. It has separate sections: archaeological, iconographic, historical and conservation. A separate department contains the gallery of paintings by Zdzislaw Beksiński from Sanok. With over 600 exhibits, it is the world’s largest exhibition of the artist’s works.
CheckIf we told you that Połoniny is a local name for alpine grasslands we would not lie, but we wouldn’t be telling the whole truth either. To describe this „lookout point” is much like trying to describe the world – you simply cannot. You just have to make the effort, you have to go out, get there and fall in love.
CheckOur local Bieszczady sea, although not famous for red-hot sand and coral reefs, offers unusual surroundings of the beautiful Bieszczady forests. Lovers of sailing and canoeing will certainly be delighted, and swimmers will not be disappointed either.
CheckWe probably do not need to introduce this gentleman to anyone. Some of you may be surprised that the roots of the pop art icon can be traced so far from the US. Andy Warhol’s parents, or should we say – Andrzej Warchoł, came from a village near Maniów, Medzilaborce in Slovakia.
CheckIf you have fallen in love with Maniów too, feel free to visit our little
corners of the Bieszczady!
